GSA Kawerau

Gender, Sexuality & Allies (GSA) is RainbowYOUTH’s peer-support group for people under the age of 27 years, who identify as gender and/or sexuality diverse, as well as allies and young people who are navigating their identity.

Who goes to it?

GSA usually has between 10 and 20 young people who attend each week ranging in age from 14-21. Most people who come are at high school. We currently have people coming from High schools in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and the local Kawerau community.

What happens there?

GSA is a supportive, creative and welcoming group for you to meet new people, hang out with current allies, get advice, have open discussions, feel safe and accepted and to eat snacks because everyone loves snacks! You can get amongst the fun and serious conversations, play games, watch movies or chill on the couch-it is totally up to you and what you feel like on the day.

Meeting times and location:

We meet every Thursday between 4-6pm at Kawerau Konnect (the old intermediate school), 369 River Road, Kawerau 3127.
