Star* – Auckland Central

Star* is a social support group open to any gender diverse and currently questioning youth. It provides a respectful and relaxed environment where any identity is supported and affirmed.

Check out our Facebook group! (This group is ‘secret’ so that non-members cannot see who is in it. If you want to join the Facebook group, please contact [email protected]).

Who goes to it?

Anyone between the ages of 13 – 27 who identify as gender diverse.

What happens there?

Star* creates a fun, supportive and informed environment for you to meet new people, make friends, ask questions, get advice, enjoy yummy food and drink, play board games, watch movies and generally just chill.

Keep a track of the Star* Facebook group for updates about what things are happening during the next meeting.

When and where we meet:

Star* meets every Sunday from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at the RY drop-in centre (end of Abbey Street, Auckland Central 1010).

Coming along once doesn’t commit you to anything; some people come to every meeting and some come when they can – it doesn’t matter. You’re always welcome.

Star* has facilitators that lead each meeting, run activities and make sure things are going smoothly. You can get in touch with them by emailing: [email protected]

Like all RY groups, Star* is totally drug, smoke and alcohol free.
